We Tested AssociatesDiary's Offline Mode in Court Basements. Here's What Happened.
A real-world test of the PWA offline cache from district courts where the cell signal goes to zero.
District court basements are famous for being cell-signal dead zones. We tested AssociatesDiary's offline mode in three of them across one week.
What we tested
- Opening the calendar with no network
- Recording an adjournment offline and confirming it syncs when signal returns
- Loading the day's cause list from cache
What worked
The calendar opened immediately and showed the last 30 days of hearings from cache. The cause list was already pre-loaded for the day. Recording an adjournment queued it for sync without complaint.
What didn't
Document attachments larger than a few MB weren't always cached — that's an explicit policy choice. New attachments uploaded offline waited for connectivity but didn't error.
Verdict
For the day-of-court workflow, offline mode is reliable enough to bet a hearing on. For document-heavy work, plan to be online.
