When a Senior Advocate Wears Two Firm Letterheads

How to track work, hearings, and billing for a partner who appears under multiple chamber names.

Senior advocates in Pakistan frequently appear under multiple firm letterheads — their own chamber, a senior counsel relationship, occasional appearance for friend-firms. Tracking that cleanly is harder than it sounds.

The naive approach is to give the advocate one user account in each firm and let them choose at login time. It works but creates pain — calendar fragmentation, billing confusion, audit gaps.

A better pattern

AssociatesDiary supports linked tenancies — one user account that's recognised across multiple tenant chambers, with clear separation of which matter belongs to which firm. The unified calendar shows all the advocate's hearings regardless of letterhead, but the billing and audit are scoped to the originating firm.

The first time you see the unified calendar after years of juggling three diaries, it's hard to go back.
